We've stopped during our RV travels to overnight at this location and it's never been very busy for parking. We have found the ground is pretty level which makes boondocking much more comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was fine. Nothing wrong with it at all. Breakfast was very good and they are open nice and early if you're eager to get back out on the road. Complimentary WIFI available at the restaurant.
Reminds me of the many truck stops my family dined in during car trips in the 60's and 70's. Nothing fancy just good tasting, hearty sandwiches and plate lunches, etc. I had the hamburger which was excellent and a very large 8oz. portion. Great option for a stopover when traveling in the area. Go

This is the best restaurant in the town of valemount love the people and the food. Always have a awesome stay there and the abernathys are awesome!
A woman came in with her daughter and immediately started making odd requests, and being dismissive and rude. When she got her food, she complained that the hash browns werent crispy ... obviously she had never tasted pan fried potatoes before?????? She also said the rest of her food was disgusting and she was sending the entire plate of food back. She sent her daughters back too and then proceeded to order her a sundae because its pretty hard to screw that up. Susan was her server and handled the situation with perfect grace, explaining that the potatoes were pan fried and thats how they normally make them here. She was very kind and continued to smile as this woman was a complete doorknob. Now we wait for her daughter to get her sundae while she leaves for the bathroom for the 100th time.. UPDATE: her daughter spilled chocolate sauce on her and she threw a fit. Anyways, my point is I come to Abernathys regularly and the food is always good and the service is great too. Small businesses should be celebrated and if you cant respect that, go back to the city where they serve crispy hash browns.
